Rockland's Candle & Craft Event

Join us for an evening of candle pouring and crafting with purpose at the beautiful Paper Garden Co, located in downtown Indiana, PA!  This special fundraising event is dedicated to help Rockland, an amazing young heart warrior who along with his family,  has overcome the most challenging heart warrior journey. 

 60% of all ticket sales will be donated to Rockland and his family!

Rockland's Story and how YOU can help: 

Rockland was born with severe congenital heart defects, Truncus Arteriosus and Interrupted Aortic Arch, and within his first week of life, he underwent open heart surgery.  Rocland fought through surgery and post op endocarditis, stayed in the hospital for over two months, and was discharged to go home with his loving Moms.  This home stay was cut short and on October 19th, 2021, Rockland was lifeflighted to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for cardiogenic shock, related to his previous infection.  

Once again, Rockland underwent open heart surgery to replace his failing valve.  After surgery and during the timeframe of decreasing Rockland's respiratory needs, Rockland went into cardiac arrest and required 30 minutes of CPR and placed on ECMO.   By God's grace and the talented skill set of CHP's cardiac team, Rockland survived, but not unscathed.  After enduring seizures, an MRI was ordered and it was discovered by neurology that Rockland had severe Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy , along with cerebral palsy (neurological disorder affecting the use of muscles), cortical visual impairment (brain struggles to interpret what the eye is seeing.  Rockland is considered legally blind), and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing food).  Rockland receives his nutrition through his G-tube.  

Rockland engages in Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Vision therapy, daily!  What a warrior!!!  His family, has hope that Rockland will continue to break barriers and exceed expectations that were set for him 2 years prior, and will learn new skills, strengthen his body, and achieve goals others say are impossible!  We couldnt' agree more!  Rockland and his family are amazing individuals we are fortunate to have met during one of our vendor events last year.  I am so grateful to meet another heart family (we have a heart warrior as well).  

In March, Rockland will participate in a 3 week intensive DMI therapy in Carmel, Indiana INSURANCE DOES NOT PAY FOR THIS!!!  This is where YOU come in!  You can help by purchasing a ticket to this event, and/or by purchasing "Rockland's Crew" signature candle, a blend created by our young CEO, Taryn, who understands the journey of heart families, personally as a big sister to a heart warrior.  "Rockland's Crew" candle will be on sale in our product page and also available on site the evening of February 9th.  We will keep the candle sale going until the last week of February.  

60% of event ticket sales will go to Rockland and his family to help with their therapy and  travel expenses to Carmel Indiana. 

$6 will be donated to Rockland for each "Rockland's Crew" signature candle sold online, or in-person!  So for those who cannot attend, they still have an opportunity to give to an amazing fundraiser and enjoy a specialty candle made with love and purpose (wooden-wick, 100% natural soy, NO phthalates, NO parabens).
